Read on if you would like to know more about Beverston Castle also known as Beverstone. In historical documents the castle was also known as Beverstane. It is located in Gloucestershire, England and is considered to be a masonry type of architecture that was originally built as a manor house. Beverston castle was founded by Maurice de Gaunt in circa 1229. Not much of it remains standing to this day. The castle ruins were probably a beautiful piece of architecture back in C.1229; it is assumed to have been quadrangular with large drum towers at its' angles. The castle was besieged twice in 1644 and eventually captured by Parliamentarians.
