A New Me And A New You

My husband, Michael, is just one of the many people to hop on the Body By Vi bandwagon and he is truly amazed by this product! I really can't say enough about it! I'm excited for him; after all he has gone through as far as health problems, such as high blood pressure and lymphodema, I really think this is the best program to utilize. After researching the company, we came to the conclusion to stay with ViSalus once he has reached the individual goals he has set for himself. He may even go on to continue his challenge and transformation. He currently weighs 320 pounds and I have yet to get his current measurements but will do this very soon! His very first goal is to lose 70 pounds and be able to lose inches and gain muscle mass in the process. Currently he is in a size 48 in jeans but with his future success, hopes to be in a size 40! I'll be by his side the whole way, cheering him on!

All those yo-yo diet plans where you lose the weight and unfortunately gain it all back plus some, are all over for us. I have talked to countless people and have heard so many success stories from several different people and also many of my friends drinking the ViSalus shakes.
A very close friend of mine looks absolutely fit and healthy and another friend went down 3 dress sizes during her challenge! Isn't that great? What's so great about this shake is that you can virtually create your own by adding the fruits that you love. Be inventive!

Have you tried ViSalus? What are you waiting for? Say goodbye to the muffin top and bulges and hello to a better, healthier you!

I will try and keep you updated on Michael's progress each week! The proof is in the shakes! So keep shakin'!

Photo Blogging On Hawaiian Time..

Aloha!

Kalama Beach- Just a Walk Away and My Backyard (so to speak)
I love Hawaii, the people, the culture, and the places I can go. My Ohana is always saying I should have majored in photography in college or writing because I always have something to say. Well they were definitely right! I love taking pictures of everything from local style food, nightlife, places I have visited and even family outings to the beach.

Living life on an island is not what some may seem to think it is. Yes, I am surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but at the same time I laugh when some people think we all live in grass shacks on the beach and have "Coconut Wireless" for communication! Personally I do not know what I would do without my Iphone or Internet.

After visiting the many beaches on the Windward side of the island, I find myself wanting to go somewhere I have never been. New experiences = New photo opportunities! On Thursday, my husband, Michael and I will be going to Turtle Bay Resort, which is on 880 ocean front acres of the legendary North Shore. I am excited to go as it is a place I haven't been to yet. Only 45 minutes from Waikiki and Honolulu, and some of the most beautiful cerulean waters that Oahu is known for! I am ready to immerse myself in the tranquility and laid back lifestyle that the North Shore community displays to its' visitors on a daily basis.

The Mystery of My Grayson Family Heritage~ Will It Unfold or Be Untold?

This past week has been all about making new contacts that would eventually help me in researching my Cornett ancestry and understanding exactly who they were. I found a connection and a book entitled, "Bicentennial Heritage Grayson County, Virginia 1793", which was published in 1995 by the Grayson County Bicentennial Foundation. This book is no longer in print, unless you are lucky enough to have a copy of it in your possession already.

My "connection" has sent to me, parts of this book as they relate to the Sutherland and Cornett families and to myself. Just scanning through these pages, I'm  thinking that my new "connection" might in actuality be related to me in some way, not just through the Sutherland lines, but also through the Cornett family too. How exciting is that? Finding a family member that has been researching the same families lineage that I am; I am super excited to read through these papers more. There are several pages of Cornett names and their ranks listed on both the American Revolutionary War and the Civil War pages.

There is still the mystery that surrounds Alexander Sutherland (Southerland) and his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Bryan. Who were they really? What were their hobbies? Did Alexander like to hunt like most men back then? In what year did he move to Virginia from Scotland? What kind of life did they live? Will I ever find out who Alexander really was? So many questions, so few answers.

In my past posts, you've read about Alexander and his role in the British Army. I think I read somewhere that he was 2nd Lieutenant. But don't quote me on that just yet! He has been the most intriguing family member I have researched so far; probably because there are so many different views from so many other people, that the truth has yet to be documented. Alexander Sutherland is a true mystery; one that I hope I can solve one day.
